Human Anatomy research

Leonardo da Vinci through out his life undertook great detailed anatomical dissections through out his life, and recorded it all accordingly.

“If Leonardo da Vinci’s uncannily accurate studies of the human body had been published in his lifetime, they would have changed the course of science.” – Alastair Sooke.

In 1510-1511 da Vinci published the fruits of his labor, Anatomical Manuscript A, a series of 18 mostly double sided sheets of paper that contain over 240 drawings and 13,000 words of notes.

da Vincis work can really help with my understanding of the human body, which improve my drawing and 3d modeling of human form. I like his detailed sketching style, great use of his pen to create the muscle mass with shadows. I hope that by researching his drawing methods it will help me improve my own.
